sid seeing this image got me to thinking about the shovel i had as a little boy on trips to blackpool and landudno. it had a wooden handle and a painted metal digging part (what is that bit called anyway?!) i'd have to go onto a high-end shop to get something like that now. steven
Hey Steven, I saw it on the beach earlier today just abandoned in the sand and seaweed.I was immediately reminded of times when I was child on these very beaches. Those memories morphed into memories of my old kids playing here. A lovely and oddly poignant moment. Glad it brought back childhood memories for you as well.
I’m a freelance writer living in Whitley Bay and putting words about music in places like Prog, Classic Rock, BBCMusic, Record Collector, Mojo, & all over the interwebs. I've also written 100s of liner notes for new & archive releases. I’ve been blogging since 1999, commenting on music in particular and the arts in general, as well as whatever takes my fancy.
